The service
LiteraryLure helps users identify, catalog, organize, and export information about books and editions. Features may include image scanning, book data lookup, collection displays, ownership and reading information, estimated values, public shelf options, and other book management tools.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms. If the law where you live requires parental consent, you may use the service only with that consent. You must provide accurate account information and keep your sign in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity through your account unless you promptly report unauthorized use.
Your content and data
You retain ownership of the images, notes, stories, collection information, and other content you submit. You give Literary Lure LLC a limited, nonexclusive license to host, process, reproduce, display, and transmit that content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service or comply with law.
You must have the right to submit your content. Do not upload private or sensitive material, unlawful content, or content that infringes another person's rights. If you choose to make a shelf or profile public, you direct us to display the selected content publicly until you change that setting or remove the content.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to do any of the following.
- Break the law or violate another person's rights.
- Upload malware, harmful code, or material designed to disrupt the service.
- Attempt to access another user's account, private information, or restricted systems.
- Bypass security, rate limits, access controls, or usage restrictions.
- Use automated means to scrape the service or create abusive traffic without permission.
- Misrepresent your identity or use the service for fraud, harassment, or exploitation.
- Reverse engineer the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Book matches and AI generated results
Image analysis, optical character recognition, book data, recommendations, and other automated results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming a suggested book, author, edition, ISBN, feature, or other detail before relying on it or adding it to your records.
Valuation disclaimer
Values and price ranges are estimates for personal collection tracking. They are not formal appraisals, guaranteed sale prices, investment advice, tax advice, insurance advice, or an offer to buy or sell a book. Condition, provenance, market demand, platform fees, and other factors can materially change an actual sale price.
Third party services
LiteraryLure relies on services and data supplied by other companies, including identity, hosting, storage, AI, and book information providers. Their services may be unavailable, changed, or governed by separate terms and policies. We are not responsible for third party services or for information on external websites.
Our intellectual property
Literary Lure LLC and its licensors own the service software, design, branding, and original content, excluding content submitted by users and third party book information or images. These Terms do not grant you a right to use our names, logos, or other brand elements outside ordinary use of the service.
Service changes and availability
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent storage, or continued support for every feature. Keep an export or another copy of information you cannot afford to lose.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access when we reasonably believe an account violates these Terms, creates a security or legal risk, harms another person, or threatens the service. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export your information before permanent closure.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an as is and as available basis. Literary Lure LLC disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so part of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Literary Lure LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the service. Our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 US dollars if you paid nothing. Applicable law may provide rights that cannot be limited by these Terms.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Literary Lure LLC from claims, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from content you submit, your unlawful use of the service, or your material violation of these Terms. This obligation does not apply where prohibited by law.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws that apply where Literary Lure LLC is organized, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where the law where you live requires a different result. Before filing a claim, contact us and give us 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally. Any court proceeding must be brought in a court with jurisdiction over Literary Lure LLC unless applicable law requires another location.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will post the revised Terms here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when reasonably practical. Continued use after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them, unless applicable law requires another form of consent.
General terms
If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of the business.
