“Scarlett Drake has a way of telling a story that makes you feel everything.”

Oleander by Scarlett Drake is my favorite book of all time, and let me tell you why.

Jude is a character you want to root for, even when you can see that he’s his own worst enemy. He and Caspien meet when they’re young, and their brief encounter has a lasting impact on both of them. They go their separate ways, but they keep getting pulled back together. Every time, they clash. And every time, Caspien’s apparent hatred and the way he treats Jude push them apart again.

But through all of it, there’s this deeply satisfying love that you feel. As you begin to understand Caspien, his experiences, his love, and his loss, his cold demeanor starts to make sense.

This book isn’t for everybody. It’s dark and handles some very dark topics, but it’s beautifully written. Scarlett Drake has a way of telling a story that makes you feel everything. Honestly, if she writes it, I’ll read it, even if it’s the phone book.

If you’re looking for a dark M/M romance full of twists and turns that will keep you yearning for pages and pages and pages, read this book. It is 100% worth it.
