“Between the dragons, the brutal training at Basgiath, and never being sure who to trust, I was completely drawn into the story.”

I loved Fourth Wing. Between the dragons, the brutal training at Basgiath, and never being sure who to trust, I was completely drawn into the story.

Violet was a big part of that. She’s physically at a disadvantage, and I liked watching her use her intelligence to find ways to survive. She has to work for her place, and seeing her prove herself was incredibly satisfying. Her bond with Tairn was one of my favorite parts.

I also loved the tension between Violet and Xaden. They have good reasons to be wary of each other, and I enjoyed watching their relationship change as they began to understand each other. The attraction, their histories, and the secrets between them kept me interested.

Some of the writing and fantasy elements felt familiar, but I was invested in the characters. The danger at the college makes every alliance matter, and the politics give you plenty to question. I wanted to know what would happen to Violet and what else she would discover about this world.
