“There was something very satisfying about finishing Bonds of Hercules.”

There was something very satisfying about finishing Bonds of Hercules. I remember thinking, please give me closure, and that was achieved. I credit Mas with amazing character development and twists that are not predictable. Alexis is both fierce and vulnerable in a way that does not feel forced or baseless.

The first book left me wanting more. This one gives you violence, darkness, drama, political intrigue, imaginative worldbuilding and an addictive plot. The characters bring new meaning to morally gray. Each is dark in their own way, and each has experienced hurt or trauma that humanizes them. Despite their power and propensity for violence, they are broken and masked.

And can I just say Nyx? I love Nyx. Who knew a snake could add so much humor and perfectly timed comedic breaks? Nyx is hilarious and endearing.

The closure, unpredictable twists and character development made this a satisfying sequel.
